And we are back again after a long time, and yet we are
bringing something old but still an awesome product from some time now (Oh, don’t
worry, we assure you that you may want to get one of these after the review).
So, shall we jump now to the product? I say no, so let’s just begin in some
things to ponder first.
Headphones or Earphones are one of the most used item by
many people around the world. They come in different colors, weird shapes, and sometimes,
an “outstanding” price (Say, a price of a gaming laptop or more!). We use them
to hear those music created by many artists, those movies that are filled with
heart-pounding action, and let’s not forget, we also use them when are indulged
in the world of gaming.
Sure, anyone can buy one any time, but, can they buy the
right one? For example, some work perfectly on computers but don’t work
properly on mobile devices, and some just work for a specific type of hardware,
which leads some people in confusion in which to really choose (Yeah, I’m
talking about the false advertisement of some product sellers around).
So, what do we have to offer? This, the RM-610D Earphone
from a company called Remax. These Earphones have been out in the wild for a while,
but, for an average consumer looking for a product that can satisfy all his/her
needs, this might not be their first choice, so, let’s clear things out for
this Earphone, and mind you, some things about this product will surprise you
(Really good).
UNBOXING
The packaging is very great. The front of the box shows some
information and stickers with Chinese characters in it (We forgot to tell you
that Remax is somewhat from China). Just be reminded of the origin of the
product so that you will not get confused by the odd English phrases in it. The
back of the box shows more information and specifications of the Earphones
Now, to get to the product, you need to hold the box and
then pull the string from the top of the package to slide the main packaging of
the product out. Here, you will see the actual earphones placed in a black
plastic mold with the lower part covered with a card showing the details of
what’s inside the box. Just remove the plastic mold holding the earphones and
you will see the other accessories that are included in the package
CONTENTS
So, what do you get? Of course, you will get what you
bought, the earphones themselves, which I will say are very good (More details
later). You will also get a small leather like pouch (We think it is an
artificial leather, anyways, the more the merrier)
You will also get an extra Two (2) pairs of ear tips (The
ones plugged in the earphones are medium sized, the extras are small and large),
a Product Information card, and a User’s Manual in English and Chinese (Do you
even read those?)
PRODUCT REVIEW
First, let’s begin with the 3.5mm jack of this earphone. It has
a TRRS Pin (more info here - https://goo.gl/K2USok),
but to cut things short, this is not the standard audio jack that you can use
almost everywhere. You need to check if your device supports it, otherwise, the
earphone will not work for you (But hey, you can use an adapter anytime like
this one - https://goo.gl/z5ovYG). Clearing
that out of the way, the right earphone wire contains a 3 button remote, which
can, (1) Decrease volume, (2) Play/Pause/Next Track, Previous Track, Answer
Call, End Call, Activate Voice Control, (3) Increase Volume. Just be reminded
that some devices may not support all the functions indicated.
We almost forgot, the back side of the button remote houses
the mic (Indicated by a small hole). Going now to the earphone drivers, it is
housed in a hard plastic with the front side covered with a mesh like metal
cover (Don’t worry, it doesn’t leak sound from there). The front side of the
earphones also show the position indicator (Which is quite weird because most
Earphones/Headphones place it in the inner side of the product)
VERDICT
To be honest, this review of ours was (Was it?) pretty late because
we had the product for a few days now, so, what about it? Well, we needed to “Fry”
it first (Play some tunes out load on max volume on our devices) so that we can
get an accurate sound quality from it. So, how was it? Let’s begin on our Sony
Xperia Z5. During our tests with it, we were not surprised by the results, we
mean, the audio output of the Z5 is quite low to be exact, but, the earphone
still produced great sound with it (With quite some balance between tracks)
Controls? This is what we loved about it, the controls
worked perfectly on our Xperia Z5! Mind you, we didn’t expect it to change
volume via the controls! We were really surprised that at the price of this
product, we finally got something that works both in Android and iOS
On our Apple iPhone 6, things started to change due to the
loud output of the test device. The earphones were loud and clear, and also
bass thumping, but don’t worry, this earphone is really quite balanced with
just a little increment on the bass side. Gaming? We used it while playing Dota
2 and CS:GO and we must say that we really love it! Like on the iPhone 6, it
sounded great and awesome!
We definitely recommend this product to anyone who are
looking for a budget yet great sounding earphones. The button controls with mic
is just an awesome feature for the price point of this product, also, the
anti-tangle flat cable really completes the excellent budget earphone.
