In today's age, human beings are not contented with what they have; Cars, houses, rooms, partners (Whoops!) are acquired in a plural manner, and mobile devices, being portable and very usable in everyday's situation, are also included in that list. But hey, will that present any problems with
carrying a lot of stuff? Like when traveling?
Well, there we go, another thing that sets off a problem when dealing with a lot of portable electronic devices, Traveling. Yes, we do it alone sometimes, but mostly we do it with our friends so we can have more fun. Capturing each moment passing by, posting it on various social media websites, chatting with your family and friends that are far away and so on; Life is so wonderful, or is it?
Its the end of the day and we need to fill up our "Moment Recorders" back on your room. Upon arrival, an unexpected feat of the room surprised you. IT ONLY HAS ONE AVAILABLE WALL SOCKET (Common scenario on hotels that are budget friendly, or in your room or a friend's where you can only use one) and you need to fill your devices with the juice it needs!
You are about to plug your own charger then you realized it will not work the way you want it, because, apparently, you have many devices to charge, and also some of your friends also need to charge their devices too. With all these charging problems, you need something that can accommodate not just one, but many devices at once, and also, it must charge fast, and I mean really fast.
That is where Tronsmart saves your day again with this portable charger. It is their wall charger with the model number W3PTA which has, not just one, but three (3) USB Ports that can charge multiple devices at once, but it does not end on that! All three (3) ports have VoltIQ Technology which determines the best charging speed for the connected device, and one (1) of these three (3) ports is Quick Charge 3.0 Certified, which means it can charge compatible devices at a more faster and safer rate! So, without further ado, let's get into the detailed review.
PACKAGING
As with our previous review of the Tronsmart's Car Charger, this wall charger from them also comes in a small and compact white box wrapped in thin plastic (See quick unboxing video below). The front of the box shows a graphical image of the charger itself, while the back shows some technical information regarding the product (Click the image to view a larger version).
CONTENTS
Upon opening the box, you will get the Charger itself wrapped in matte plastic, a feedback card (Which has a "Happy" and "Not Happy" on the other side) and a card explaining the VoltIQ Technology. If you aren't aware what that means, VoltIQ is a charging technology which firsts detects your device, gets some information about the charging speed it can safely handle and provide it with it.
PRODUCT REVIEW
The charger is colored in black and has a solid quality build, and I mean solid because I already dropped it a couple of times and it is still intact, like its made by a tank architect (LOL). The front of the device has a Tronsmart logo embedded, while on the top left corner sits a LED which lights up green indicating that it is plugged. On the left hand side of the device waits the three (3) USB Charging ports, one of which has Quick Charge 3.0 Technology enabled (First USB Port from the top, color coded blue).
As for the back of the device, It has some technical information about the electrical input of the charger and some more detailed voltage info regarding each USB Port. At the right hand side of the device sits a folding power pin which is quite excellent especially when bringing the charger during traveling. Makes it easier to carry around when you need it.
Now, all that physical details aside, let's talk about its performance, which I can honestly say that it has never failed me every single time. I was able to charge my Sony Xperia Z5, my iPhone 6 and my Olympus Stylus TG-3 (Yes, I was able to charge my camera safely, thanks to the VoltIQ Technology built in) without any hiccups. About over charging your device, I can say that it does not, why? Well, I have already done it many times (not always though) and I can say that my device's battery is still excellent.
VERDICT
Highly recommended! having this item around you especially when traveling is a must have for it can save you time and space when bringing multiple devices at once. Just take note that if you have USB Type-C cable, you may need to buy an adapter for that before you can use this; And this is really cheap! I got it for around PHP 900.00 via Lazada, which has the same price on Amazon ($20.00 as of time of writing) and it has very good reviews too (Both Lazada and Amazon links).
